 Originally the entry was covered with a very dark green & gold marbled wallpaper. First go 'round I painted a bright yellow over the wallpaper just to get it done quickly. It was OK but you could see the wallpaper lines and all the nailpops and other imperfections of the wall, so a few months later I decided to redo it and take the wallpaper off. Well, turned out the previous owners had wallpapered directly onto the sheetrock!! ack! I couldn't remove the paper without having to resheetrock the entire entry. A saleslady at Home Depot suggested using the Venecian Plaster. While it worked for covering the imperfections, and is very pretty - Later I found out I could've plastered using good old joint compound for a fraction of the cost!! When I had to do the same to my kitchen walls I used the joint compound and was much happier with the results and price tag! The entry has since had several different color schemes, LOL!! | |
